Travel Destination: Hong Kong Disneyland Tips on Getting Around the Park

Tips on Getting Around the Park:

1. What to wear:  Wear bright colored shirts for easy identification, I wore neon pink, my husband wore orange, my son wore bright green but my daughter  cannot be bothered with wearing anything other than her princess outfits.
2. Restaurants do fill up very quickly so it is imperative that you eat at off peak hours. Since we have a really heavy breakfast, we usually have lunch at around 2pm to 4pm.
3. Let your daughter wear a princess gown because your child might get invited to join the princess parade and also, most girls are wearing princess gowns, I was kinda pressured to buy one in the store which is rather expensive.  Gowns range from HK$ 300 to 550.
4. The Jedi Trials at the Temple do fill up quickly so you better reserve a slot before going to other rides.  Head on over to the Star Wars gift shop and get a stub near the cashier for your preferred time slot.
5. Selfie sticks are not allowed within the park premises.
6. Meet and greet the characters at the Fantasy Gardens.
7. Approach the cast members for some unique stickers, they are more than willing to give out stickers even to adults!
8.  If you plan to get the Disney photo service, download the HK Photopass app, I suggest getting the unlimited shots instead of the individual photos.
9. Download the HK Disney app to easily access the parade schedules, detailed ride and show schedules, and of course to navigate through the park.  This will help you plan your strategy and maximize your time in the park.The Disneyland FASTPASS is a shortcut to avoid the queue in their main attractions.  You get first priority for your rides with minimum wait time. This feature is absolutely free, unlike some theme parks that require you to pay for FASTPASS.  Simply scan your admission ticket at the distributing machines conveniently located at the entrance of the ride to collect your FASTPASS ticket for later use, at no additional cost!Remember that FASTPASS tickets are valid only on the day of issue. FASTPASS machines will not issue another ticket until the time has passed on your current one and tickets are subject to availability.Hong Kong Disneyland offers FASTPASS tickets for three attractions :
   • Hyperspace Mountain
   • The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
   • Iron Man Experience
10. Stay for the night parade and the fireworks!  It might get a little chilly for the kids so better wrap them all up, but it is totally worth it.
